If you’re thinking about buying a new laptop computer in the Fall of 2022, then you’re in luck. Here are some of the latest and greatest laptop computers you can buy during that period. These laptops are listed in order from least to most expensive based on specs and value when this article was written.
1) The Dell X1 5000
Dell is renowned for delivering some of the best laptops in business, and with its X1 5000 series, Dell has done just that again. Featuring 8th generation Intel processors, Thunderbolt 3 ports, and a beautiful 4K display, it’s not only one of my favorite laptops but it’s also one of my favorite notebooks in general. If you’re looking to get into a laptop before they all migrate to USB-C charging ports next year, look no further than Dell.
2) The Asus ZenBook Pro 15
If you're looking for a top-of-the-line laptop, you need to look no further than Asus' ZenBook Pro 15. While it's not cheap at $2000, it delivers when it comes to performance and features. Inside, you'll find up to an 8th Generation Intel Core i9 processor with 16GB of RAM and up to a 4TB SSD storage. In terms of graphics, you'll be able to get either a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 or 1050 Ti card depending on your budget. The display is excellent, as well - even in direct sunlight - with wide viewing angles and 4K support (3840 x 2160). It also comes with dual Thunderbolt 3 ports which are great if you want faster file transfers or video output via external monitors.
3) The Samsung Galaxy Notebook 9
The new Galaxy Notebook 9 comes with a beautiful 8th-generation Intel processor, a gorgeous 1440p display, and plenty of RAM and storage. The new all-day battery will keep you working on flights or while traveling all week. If that’s not enough, it includes two USB-C ports and two USB 3.0 ports, which can charge your laptop twice as fast as before. There’s also an S Pen included making touch screen navigation more intuitive than ever before. It’s easily one of the best laptops out there. Expect to pay around $1,200 if you buy it from Samsung now; if you want to wait a year or so, however, we predict prices could drop below $1k by Fall 2022.
4) The HP Pavilion Wave
The HP Pavilion Wave will be released in the late fall of 2022. It's a laptop that is powerful, sleek, and lightweight. At just three pounds, it is quite portable, making it an ideal machine for both students and business professionals. The screen is vivid and responsive to touch—perfect for those who love to use their laptops in tablet mode. Because of its futuristic design (and other fantastic features), users can expect that it'll cost a little more than most laptops on the market today—but it will be worth every penny!
5) The Lenovo Yoga 920
The new Yoga 920 is set to be one of the best laptops of Fall 2022. With a full HD display and a great keyboard, it's worth taking a look at what Lenovo has to offer with their newest flagship laptop. If you need a new laptop and have $1,000 burning a hole in your pocket, it might be time to check out what's on sale.
6) The Apple MacBook 12-inch Retina Display with Touch Bar
Apple’s latest laptops are expected to come out with a new touch bar that doubles as a touchscreen. It’s supposed to replace many of your keys with one giant display, allowing you to interact with your computer in entirely new ways. This technology could offer something for everyone—you can make simple operations more intuitive or use it to keep yourself entertained during long flights and commutes. Regardless of how you end up using it, the idea of getting rid of physical keys should be pretty exciting (and if you were disappointed by Apple removing all ports from its latest MacBook Pro models, there are still USB-C ports on offer here).
7) The Microsoft Surface Book 2
With a starting price tag of around $1,500, Microsoft’s Surface Book 2 may seem like an expensive laptop, but it boasts some of the best hardware on the market. The first-generation model came with a 13.5 screen and had an optional discrete GPU—but its 15 successor is even more powerful. The modern gaming version of Microsoft’s flagship PC comes with an 8th-generation Intel Core i7 processor, 32GB RAM, and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti graphics card and costs $2,500; you can also opt for a cheaper configuration that includes a 7th-gen Intel Core i5 CPU and 16GB RAM.
8) The Alienware 13 R3 OLED (13.3) Gaming Notebook
The Alienware 13 R3 OLED is Dell’s most powerful gaming laptop, and it offers an incredible value at $1,999. It has a lot of storage, 16GB of RAM, and a 256GB solid-state drive (SSD), plus an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card. And its screen looks fantastic with crisp colors and no backlight bleeding. The battery life could be better, but at just over four hours you can easily make it through a cross-country flight or a long day at work.
9) The HP Spectre x360 (13.3 Touch Screen, 8th Gen Core i7, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, Win10 Home/Pro, Natural Silver)
Powered by an 8th Generation Intel Core i7-8550U Processor (4.0GHz, 8MB Cache, up to 4.6GHz), 16GB DDR4 Memory, 512GB SSD. Operating System: Windows 10 Home or Pro 64bit. 13.3 FHD Touchscreen (1920x1080) IPS WLED-backlit Display with Integrated Camera and Dual Speakers; HDMI 2.0 Output; Widescreen Bezel Designed to Look Like a Book
10) Conclusion
Computers are like any other commodity in that they become obsolete as soon as new models are released. If you need a new laptop, however, it’s still possible to find great deals on some of 2017’s best-sellers—if you know where to look. Some manufacturers put out excellent laptops that don’t sell well simply because they didn’t release enough marketing material to promote them. With an old laptop model number and little information on these computers, many buyers will pass them up in favor of a more familiar option. So while one model may not have received proper marketing or distribution when it was released, there is no reason why it shouldn't be able to hold its own against newer models two years later.
